DJ AM, who suffered second and third degree burns when he jumped from a plane that caught on fire on September 20 in Columbia, South Carolina, was among the 300 mourners who attended a memorial service in Los Angeles this week for Chris “Lil’ Chris” Baker, who died in the Learjet crash.
The popular DJ (real name Adam Goldstein) arrived in a limousine to pay respects to Baker, 29, who was a close friend and assistant to musician Travis Barker, who was also injured in the crash.
Baker is survived by his wife, Otillia Villar, and son Sebastian, 2. Goldstein was dressed in a green polo shirt following Villar’s request that people wear green, Baker’s favorite color, to honor her husband’s memory.
More than 300 people turned out to the two-hour memorial service, reports People, and Barker – who was only released from hospital that morning and was travelling back to LA on a bus – was reportedly upset that he was unable to attend the service.
“He was his (Barker’s) right-hand man,” actor Simon Rex told People after the tragedy.
