47-Year-Old Arrested Over Wolverine Net Leak

December 17th, 2009

hugh-jackman-20th-century-foxEarlier this year TheCelebrityTruth reported the leak of the 20th Century Fox film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine onto the internet. At the time Fox released a statement saying, “The source of the initial leak and any subsequent postings will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Well it seems that Fox wasn’t bluffing, with 47-year-old Gilbert Sanchez being arrested by the FBI earlier today.
hugh-jackman-20th-century-foxFBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller has released a statement saying, “Gilberto Sanchez was arrested at his Bronx home early Wednesday without incident.”

Sanchex, 47, was indicted Dec. 10 by a Los Angeles federal grand jury for “violation of federal copyright law.”
Sanchez is expected to appear before a U.S magistrate judge in New York on Wednesday and faces a possible three years in prison and a $250 000 fine.
With X-Men Origins: Wolverine making a total of $193, 179, 412 as of October 12 2009 at the box office, just covering the $150 million production budget, you can’t help but feel the leak did cause a loss of income for Fox.
