50 Cent Awarded Time With Son

September 9th, 2008

50 Cent was victorious in the latest round of court battles against his ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, with the judge awarding him time with his son on alternating weekends.

Judge David Freundlich handed down the ruling in a Long Island court on Monday (September 8), with the pair ordered to drop Marquise, 11, at a police station for handover to the other.

Additionally, 50 Cent is barred from having any contact with Tompkins.

“I’m happy.  I get a chance to see him,” the rapper told reporters following the decision.  ”I’m going to hang out… make some movies, make some music and continue to kick it.”

Tompkins was unhappy with the ruling saying, ”My son doesn’t want every other weekend.”

The pair hit headlines in May after a fire destroyed the home Tompkins was renting from 50 Cent, with the rapper accused of lighting the fire and threatening to kill her, however, he counter-sued with a $20 million defamation lawsuit.
