I like the new cover and the women are beautiful but where is the diversity? I am a Latino who studies at a large public university in New England and must admit I love my White women but recommend Vanity Fair rethink their marketing plan so that it is more culturally competent. Not to mention, the fact that there are nearly 50 Million Latino/-a's in America – the new majority of the minorities- that contribute 1 Trillion dollars (or 1/10) of the American GDP annually. Bottom line, Vanity Fair (as well as other major media organizations) should rethink their marketing approach so that it shows more people of color, weight, and sizes so as to provide a more quality product to consumers across the ages.

I will agree these actresses are talented and are much talked about due to hits like Twilight, Up in the Air, An Education and Dear John. But I find find it disturbing and PATHETIC that once again, I see a sea of white women. "A New Hollywood!" Give me a break. Not one, not one single woman of color–Latina, African American, African, Indian, Asian. Not one young woman like Selena Gomez (18) or Raven Symone (25). I think the women this issue range in age from 18-29. You couldn't find one woman of color? GIVE ME A BREAK!

Why are there never any SAMOANS on the cover of these magazines??!! Samoans and Eskimos ('scuse me, Inuits) are completely ignored and under represented month after month. Give me a big, burley Samoan any day over a bunch of skinny, voluptuous white women.

  4. Abby Says:

Unique women. Not typical beauties. Smart and not attention grabbers. Thanks.

  5. Jazmyn Says:

If these weren't the "NEW HOLLYWOOD", people wouldn't be paying so much to see them. Vanity Fair is just a company working for profits. If someone had been more "profitable" than these girls, they would have used them. Either A. they asked a more "diverse" group and they didnt want to do it, or B. THESE GIRLS ARE WHAT SELL THE MAGAZINE. This isnt high school, stop taking things so personally.

  6. jazmyn Says:

Besided, why does EVERYTHING have to be "Diverse" If that was a cover full of colored women, no one would say "WHERE are all the white girls"??? This is getting rediculous

  7. Angel Says:

I've been to a couple of sites an all anyone really talks about is race. That part of this cover doesn't really bother me. What bothers me is one of these girls doesn't belong and their are some people missing from this list. FYI Kristen Stewart is just a horrible actress. If shes the new wave of hollywood then I will avoid a lot of new movies this year. Also were is Dakota Fanning she is a great actress. Also Zoe from Avatar and Star Trek those were two very popular movies and shes was great in both of them. I would pick those two over Kristen any day.

  8. Andrea Says:

Because The 'actress' is from Twilight, one more in the vast list of stupid movies that sells because of sexual fantasies in sad teenagers and more muscle than story. God, someone should kill Meyer and all her crappy products.

  9. stormy214 Says:

skinny and voluptuous are two opposite things… and they didnt choose the girls because they're white, they chose them because they're the most watched actresses of the moment. it has nothing to do with race, it's about their careers.

  10. LrC Says:

she was famous before Twilight. she's been in tons of movies that have nothing to do with sexual fantasy. panic room, speak, cold creek manor, the messengers, adventureland, the runaways.. she's been famous for a while. do some research and know what you're talking about before you go all judgmental.

  11. sal_fan Says:

Zoe from Star trek is in her 30s – this is a young hollywood gfeature so I'm guessing that's people in their early 20s??

  12. JMailo Says:

Hey im Samoan, but i would like to know what Samoan women you had in mind? I wasnt aware there were any famous ones at the moment. plz do let me know. :) [or were you talking about their body type ???

  13. JMailo Says:

Great point, thats exactly what i was thinking. I guess its just the movies that make your heart go boom-boom, and your love'muffin' cook. Lmao! Dont mean to be so…yknow, but im just saying…sex sells. :)

  14. JMailo Says:

Lol, i just said that in another comment. Sex sells. And thats the sad truth.
