US actor Brad Renfro has died at the age of 25, his lawyer said today, with the cause of death yet to be determined.
Renfro’s body was found in his Los Angeles home early on Tuesday morning (January 15), according to his lawyer, Richard Kaplan.
The young actor, who had a history of substance abuse, served 10 days in jail in May 2006 after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated and pleading guilty to attempted possession of heroin. He had reportedly been working to stay clean and sober, and was mid-way through filming an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ ‘The Informers’ with Winona Ryder when he died.
Renfro began his film career at the age of 12 in ‘The Client‘, and appeared in ‘Sleepers’ with Brad Pitt and ‘Ghost World’ with Scarlett Johanson.
