Best known for his role as egocentric movie star Vincent Chase on HBO’s hit series ‘Entourage’, Adrian Grenier says he has little in common with his small-screen alter ego – but that doesn’t mean he’s not enjoying his time as a Hollywood heartthrob.
The 32-year-old actor and eco-enthusiast – who drives a Prius and owns a house in the Clinton Hill area of Brooklyn, NY – says he has “a lot of respect” for Paris Hilton, as she’s learnt how to deal with life under the Hollywood spotlight.
“She’s ballsy. She’s learned to play with the paparazzi attention and have fun with it, and she creates little mysteries in the tabloid arena. I have fun with her, but it’s always been platonic. [Our relationship] wasn’t sexual though I understand that sex sells,” he tells Page Six magazine.
“If you want to know the whole story, you’ve got to be my friend. It’s easy to put those labels on people, but they’re not accurate. We’re young in Hollywood having fun.”
Grenier has had Tinseltown talking about his upcoming, as-yet-untitled documentary on the paparazzi, the filming process of which had him joining the paparazzi pack in Hollywood, chasing celebrities, on several occasions.
“They’re trying to earn a buck in a fun way… so they’re doing what they can to feed that demand and make money,” he says.
“Through my documentary, I’ve realized how insignificant all that is, because I know who I am. Take one part truth and 1,000 parts speculation and heresy, and you’ve got yourself a tabloid story.”
