Amy Winehouse Skips Paris Concert Due To Illness

August 31st, 2008

Amy Winehouse pulled out of a performance in Paris just two-hours before she was due to take the stage, after her rep announced she had fallen ill.

The troubled 24-year-old was scheduled to sing at a music festival, held at Saint-Cloud’s Park outside Paris, on Friday night (August 29) alongside The Roots, The Raconteurs, Kaiser Chiefs and R.E.M..

Her rep released a statement explaining, “Amy Winehouse was regrettably unable to perform at the Rock En Seine show in Paris due to illness.  She was taken ill at her house and wasn’t able to travel to France for the concert.”

Concert organizers responded saying there was “no explanation of the exact reasons for her absence.  We are very sorry about this situation and share the disappointment of the festival goers.”
