Animal Rights Group Backs Off Beyonce

April 13th, 2008

Animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has called a ceasefire against popstar Beyonce Knowles, after noting she hasn’t been wearing fur this season and declaring that "she’s clean".

In a notice posted on their official website, PETA states that their team monitors the media to see "who’s wearing fur and where they got it from during a given season."

The activists state that there has not been "a single sighting of Beyonce in a fur coat all winter. So we’re calling a ceasefire."

PETA Senior Vice President, Lisa Lange, has sent Knowles and her reported new husband Jay-Z a faux-fur rug with a note attached that reads: “From all of us at PETA, we wish you much happiness in your life together. Please accept this faux-fur throw with many good wishes and a hope from us that together, you’ll be a fur-free couple!”

PETA had a highly publicized run-in with the star last year after they won a competition to join her for dinner, and the animal welfare group used the event to stage an ambush and discuss her fur fashion.

That’s awesome! There is no excuse for murdering animals like that.
