Ashlee Simpson has described what life is like as a celebrity pursued by the paparazzi, saying she is "frustrated" at the growing level of snapper activity – which has stepped up a notch since she began dating Fall Out Bay bassist, Pete Wentz.

Talking to the E! Channel’s ‘Daily 10′ show, Simpson also defended her father Joe, who is often reported as being controlling over the careers of his daughter’s, Ashlee and her famous sister, Jessica.

"He’s actually one of my really good friends. People really have the wrong idea about him," she says of her dad.

The younger Simpson sister also says that the paparazzi throng can be a nuisance.

"It’s frustrating if someone is outside Starbucks when you’re getting a coffee, or at the grocery store when you’re in your pajamas," she admits.

"I’ve definitely had moments where I’m like, ‘Ah, get out of my face!’"
