Ashlee Simpson has denied online reports that she and her fiancee Pete Wentz are set to star in a new series of ‘Newlyweds’, the show that helped re-launch her sister‘s career.

Ok! magazine is reporting an unknown ’source’ as saying that Simpson’s father and manager Joe "knows that no-one cared about Jessica before her reality show, and he’s hoping a show for Ashlee will have the same effect."

The MTV reality show propelled Jessica and her then-husband, Nick Lachey, into the limelight, and helped them to re-establish their musical careers.

However, Simpson’s representative, who been busy denying stories of a pregnancy for the couple lately, has also denied that they will launch a new series of the show.
