Avril Lavigne’s Dancers Claim Paltry Pay Packet

February 4th, 2008

Avril Lavigne has come under fire from her dancers in Hollywood, with an email leaked to the press revealing that her back-ups feel they are receiving less than industry standard remuneration – prompting a war of words to emerge between the two parties.

The email, which was first published on Perez Hilton’s website, centers around an upcoming audition for the singer.

It claims that Lavigne’s management has "offered no additional per diem (daily rates of pay) and no plus agency fee, which is standard in our industry. We have expressed our concerns to Avril’s management but they have decided to move forward regardless."

Lavigne’s publicist has responded to the allegations, saying, "We have been told that the rates for the dancers are within the industry standard. Avril prides herself in treating everyone on the tour with the utmost respect and consideration and pays them well within the industry standard."
