Avril Lavigne Strips It Back For New Album

Avril Lavigne is taking a stripped back approach to her forthcoming album, due for release in November, saying, “It’s a lot different from anything I’ve done before.” Have a listen to what she’s been working on after the jump.
The 25-year-old talked to Billboard about the new record saying, “It’s not a pop rock record. This is more about emotion and feeling.”
She adds, “I started this record off really slow, just writing songs at home on my piano. I didn’t work with a ton of people this time.”
Lavigne started by penning the theme for a commercial for her fragrance Black Star, that has since been turned into a full track.
“It’s the first song that I recorded for this record,” she explained. “A lot of people like it. It’s kind of like a lullaby.”
