Batman Snubbed As Oscar Nominations Announced

January 23rd, 2009

Despite being on the top of everyone’s list for an Oscar nomination, ‘The Dark Knight’ was snubbed in the ‘Best Picture’ category along with it’s director Christopher Nolan, when the nominations were announced on Thursday (January 22).

‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ was ahead of the pack, scoring 13 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Brad Pitt, who said, “This is a great honor for the movie and I’m especially happy for David Fincher, for without him there would be no Ben Button.”

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was nominated for 10 awards and ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘Milk’ are up for 8 each when the awards are handed out on February 22 in Hollywood.
