Boy George Found Guilty Of False Imprisonment

December 6th, 2008

Culture Club singer Boy George was found guilty of false imprisonment on Friday (December 5), with the judge telling the eighties icon that he will likely serve prison time.

The 47-year-old, born George O’Dowd, was accused of handcuffing Audun Carlsen against his will and beating him up after he suspected the Norwegian escort was stealing photos from his computer.

O’Dowd was found guilty of falsely imprisoning Carlsen, with Judge David Radford saying in court, “The fact that your bail is being continued does not imply that this will be dealt with by a non-custodial sentence.  I don’t want any false expectations created.”

The singer will be sentenced on January 16.
