Brat Pack Leader John Hughes Dies Of Heart Attack

breakfast club universal picturesIconic movie director John Hughes, the man behind cult hit films such as The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, died suddenly of a heart attack today in Manhattan.

john hughes varietyHughes, 59, began his career as an advertising copywriter in Chicago.

In the last ten years he stepped back from the film industry somewhat to enjoy time with his family, including his wife of 39 years, Nancy, and their two sons John and James.

Hughes lived on farm in northern Illinois, and was in Manhattan on vacation when he collapsed suddenly.
