Brian McFadden and Delta Goodrem Engaged

Westlife singer Brian McFadden and Australian songstress Delta Goodrem confirmed their engagement on Friday (November 30), squashing rumors that she had turned his proposal down.

Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported that a ‘source’ close to Goodrem had claimed that she felt she was too young for marriage, and feared she wasn’t ready to become a stepmother to McFadden’s two children from his previous marriage to Kerry Katona of British pop group Atomic Kitten.

However, the couple issued a press release via her representative, Jennifer Fontaine, stating:

"Brian McFadden and Delta Goodrem wish to confirm the couple are engaged. Contrary to false reports, the couple were hoping to keep the news private however they feel it is important to now confirm their exciting news."
