Britney Spears’ record label has announced that her new album, ‘Blackout’, will be hitting store shelves by the end of this month – two weeks earlier than anticipated – due to unauthorized internet leaks.
‘Blackout’ is Spears’ first album of new material since 2003′s ‘In The Zone’. The lead single, ‘Gimme More’, has gone to the top of the charts around the world.
A statement released by her record label Jive said:
"Due to these numerous unauthorized online leaks, the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs, including moving up the release date of the album to 30 October."
