Fans of the tv show ‘Lipstick Jungle’ can breathe a sigh of relief with confirmation coming from Brooke Shields that it hasn’t been canceled, following reports that America’s NBC network had ended it after just two seasons.
Shields, who stars as Wendy Healy on the show, told reporters at Kidfest in New York City Sunday (November 16), “They thought that because ‘My Own Worst Enemy’ has been shut down that the same thing had happened to us, and it’s not true.”
“They’re not breaking down the sets,” she adds dismissing the rumors. “We’re still working. We still have more to do, so it’s erroneously presented that we’ve been canceled, thank God.
“Our bosses are saying, ‘You’re not canceled, don’t worry. We’re just trying to figure out how to make this make sense.’”
Fans of the show, based on the best selling book by ‘Sex & the City’ author Candace Bushnell, have been bombarding NBC executives with lipsticks in a show of support to the series.
“I think that the public outcry has been crazy,” Shields says. “And it’s kind of wonderful.”
