She didn’t lose for opposing gay marriage. She lost for having bad judgement, being undiplomatic, and inarticulate. Anyone on the street can give an answer like she did. We expect more measured, thoughtful responses from Miss USA’s.

I wish we had more politicians that spoke from their heart and didn’t speak to please everyone in the crowd. She gave her opinion…since when is giving your honest opinion on a two sided issue bad…are the Miss USA girls supposed to lie through their teeth? Are they supposed to please everyone or stand up for issues and fight for beliefs? The people who are complaining about her “bad judgment” don’t care that there are just as many people who believe as she does. Californians are who she represents and they voted against gay marriage! If anything she was representing her state! I applaud her for standing up for her beliefs in the face of imbeciles like Hilton that can only cuss up a storm and tell her how stupid she is for being and honest person. Listen to her speak on the issue and listen to Hilton…Hilton has no class and she is elegant!

Even though I’m not a fan of Perez, I do admire him for not making a scene, jumping up and screaming at her as I’m sure that’s what he would have liked to do.
However, he really had no business whatsoever to ask a question like that. He surely would have known that the chances of getting the answer he wanted were less than 50%. After all, Prop 8 did fail to get even close to half of the votes. He was baiting her, pure and simple! He WANTED her to say just that to create some drama so he’d have some more material for his website aside from the paparazzi pics with penises drawn on the faces…
