Drew Carey is a new man! The host of CBS’s The Price Is Right revealed his new, much slimmer physique at the hit game show’s season launch, where he revealed that he’s lost 80 pounds thanks to a strict no-carb diet.
He credits good old fashioned exercise and a sensible healthy eating plan with his 80-pound weight loss, and he’s happy to report that all symptoms of his diabetes are gone and he no longer relies on related medication.
“I like being skinny,” Carey tells People.
“I was sick of being fat on the camera. Really, I just got sick of it. Once I started losing weight, again, like once I started dropping a couple pant sizes, then it was easy ’cause once you see the results, then you don’t wanna stop.”
Carey’s healthy eating plan involved cutting out pizza, bread, beans, corns, crackers and starches of any kind. He also did regular cardio workouts.
It was a strict regime and he admits to cheating on the odd occasion, but his perseverance paid off: he dropped from a size 44 pants to a 33-34, and he hopes to stay this way.
“It sucks being fat, you know,” he says.
