Carrie Prejean To Be Stripped Of Her Crown?

May 6th, 2009

The directors of the Miss California USA pageant met early Tuesday (May 5) to decide whether Carrie Prejean violated her contract – but have yet to announce a ruling as to whether she should be stripped of her crown.

The directors are investigating after it came to light this week that the model has potentially violated two clauses in her 12-page contract, after she worked with a national group opposed to gay marriage, and it was revealed that she’d posed semi-nude when she was a teenager.

Pageant spokesman Roger Neal told Usmagazine.com that pageant directors Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler were in closed-door meetings all day.

Her contract with Miss California allegedly prevents contestants from making personal appearances, giving interviews or making commercials without permission from pageant officials.

The contract also contains a clause asking participants to acknowledge whether they have conducted themselves “in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards,” and as an example, asks if they have ever been photographed naked or partially nude.

In the last two weeks, however, the young model – who stirred up controversy for her anti-gay marriage stance during the Miss USA pageant – has made televised appearances at her local church in San Diego, and on behalf of the National Organization for Marriage, a group opposed to same-sex marriage.

Also, on Monday, topless photos of Prejean were leaked on the Internet.

“As you can see from the contract, she violated multiple items,” Neal said in a statement to the Associated Press.
