Oscar winning Australian actress Cate Blanchett was injured during a stage performance of A Streetcar Named Desire in Sydney on Wednesday night (September 3 – Oz time), when she was accidentally struck on the head by co-star Joel Edgerton.
The show was canceled after Blanchett was hit with a prop radio during a scuffle scene, causing the 40-year-old to bleed from the back of her neck and needing medical attention.
“Everyone is fine,” Sydney Theatre Company spokesperson Tim McKeogh told The Daily Telegraph. “Cate was injured, she got a bump on the head but we’re confident she will be on stage (tonight).”
