‘Samantha Who?’ star Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer, her representative announced on Saturday (August 2).

The 36-year-old actress, who lost her on-again/off-again boyfriend Lee Grivas in July after he died in his Hollywood apartment, was set to be part of a ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ telethon on September 8.

Applegate’s publicist, Ame Van Iden, released a statement saying, “Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery.

“No further statement will be issued at this time.”

E! News reports that Applegate will continue her shooting schedule on her hit show while undergoing treatment for the disease.
