Christopher Meloni Confirms He’s Staying On SVU

Christopher Meloni - NBCDespite reports to the contrary, Christopher Meloni has confirmed that he is staying with the hit tv cop drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Christopher Meloni - NBCAustralia’s Courier Mail reported earlier this year that Meloni was set to leave the show after 12 seasons, however, the actor says it was just a misunderstanding.

“What I said was ‘When your contract is done…that will be the end. Because when your contract is done, it’s usually the end,” he told Us Magazine. “But when [producers] come back to me, you know, we can always talk.’ I couched it incorrectly. It wasn’t [the reporter's] fault.”

He added, “I had one year [left] on my contract. Our show hasn’t been picked up. Those are the facts of the matter.”
