Despite releasing their latest album ‘Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends’ in June, Coldplay have announced that they will have an EP of new music in stores by Christmas this year with a new album coming in 2009.
In an interview with BBC6, Chris Martin was asked by Michael Stipe of R.E.M. to clarify recent rumors that the band were planning to put out a new record soon.
“We’re going to put an EP out at Christmas called ‘Prospects March’ and we’re going to release an album next December,” Maritn explained, saying it would be released on December 26 or “something like that.”
He added, “I’ve said it very quietly as we’re not allowed to announce the album. But we’re gonna have another record ready by November 2009 to end the decade… We’ve recorded the EP, but we’ve got to get around to the other thing.”
