Courteney Cox is set to star in new show called ‘Cougar Town’, in which the former ‘Friends’ star plays a newly single 40-year-old mom with a 17-year-old son.
A pilot for the show has been given the green-light by America’s ABC network and is being written by the creator of ‘Scrubs’, Bill Lawrence.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence says, “Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free. People don’t do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing.”
Production on ‘Cougar Town’ will start in January with plans for a launch mid-way through 2009.
