‘The Dark Knight’ continues it’s run toward becoming the biggest grossing movie of all time, as the Batman flick surpasses the billion dollar mark this week.
Warner Bros made the announcement on Friday (Feb 20) saying it’s now the fourth biggest movie of all time behind ‘Titanic’ ($1.84 billion), ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’ ($1.12 billion) and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’ ($1.07 billion).
The Batman sequel has made $533.1 million in the US and $468 million throughout the rest of the world, with Box Office Mojo reporting that “it’s unprecedented for a sequel in a blockbuster franchise to more than double its predecessor.”
