David Duchovny filed a lawsuit against British tabloid the Daily Mail on Wednesday (October 22), after a story claimed the ‘Californication’ star had an affair with a 28-year-old Hungarian tennis coach.
The 48-year-old actor is seeking $1 million in damages following the report that he had an affair with Edit Pakay, a claim he denies.
“This is false,” the lawsuit states. “It never happened.”
Duchovny, who recently finished a stint in rehab to battle a sex addiction, announced he had split with wife Téa Leoni last week after 11 years of marriage.
