David Lee Roth Denies Nutty Story

July 11th, 2008

David Lee Roth has dismissed a story doing the rounds this week that claims he almost died from anaphylactic shock after eating peanuts while driving in Canada.

Reports allege that Lee Roth was pulled over for speeding in Ontario on May 23rd, with officers stating the rocker was suffering an allergic reaction and promptly called an ambulance.

However, the former Van Halen frontman released a statement through his publicist Elaine Shock saying, “I was in Canada only from July first through the fourth for a performance at the Quebec City Summer Festival. I had no encounters or incidents with the police. The only thing I’m allergic to is criticism. — Love, Dave”

Janie Liszewski, Van Halen’s publicist, added that Lee Roth was performing with the band on the day of the alleged incident saying, “Indeed they did play at Madison Square Garden in New York on the 23rd.
