Demi Moore, 47, has spoken about her marriage to Hollywood hearthrob Ashton Kutcher, 31, in a magazine interview, revealing that she prefers the term “puma” to “cougar”, and saying that she doesn’t understand the fascination with their 15-year age difference.
“I’m certainly not the first person to be in a relationship with a younger man,” Moore tells W Magazine’s December issue, “but somehow I was plucked out as a bit of a poster girl.
“I don’t know why that is. But I just kind of step back sometimes and say, ‘There is some reason, and what is it that I have to share in a positive way?’”
The actress, who has two indie films on the way – Happy Tears and The Joneses with David Duchovny – adds that Kutcher makes her “a better person”.
“The love he has for me makes me a better person by giving me the courage to take risks,” Moore says.
“I can fail and have someone who loves me just the same. I never knew it was quite possible.”
