Donald Trump has expanded his empire, announcing that he has bought the Monday Night RAW franchise from the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
In a statement announcing the move, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon said, “This was an offer I couldn’t refuse.”
Trump, who will appear on the next episode of the show this Monday (june 22), added, “The Monday Night RAW franchise has been one of the top cable franchises since its launch 17 years ago. I’m going to do things on the show that have never been done or seen before.
He continues, “As my first act as owner, I am doing something unprecedented. I am giving back to the people who have been loyal all these years. For the first time in more than 838 episodes of RAW, next week’s show will be live and commercial free.”

Umm, since the McMahon’s own 73% of the companies shares, and Vince owns his shares, plus as “promoter” personally owns all broadcasting rights and production facilities. So this theoretically could be true. Or hers an idea: Trump is also a major shareholder in the company (which he is) and therefore is using his celebrity power to boost sagging ratings. I am also a semi-major share holder, and all shareholders will be totally informed Monday morning in a conference call with Linda McMahon at 9:00. Sooooo, it could be a work, it could be true, but I suspect it is a combination of the two as Vince and Donald are really good friends and Vince appeared on a couple of “Apprentices” and let Donald shave his head for charity. Just my thoughts.
