Eminem: I Feel Like A Spoilt Rapper

October 21st, 2008

Eminem has gone on British radio to promote his new book entitled ‘Eminem: The Way I Am,’ saying he’s been busy in the studio recording his new album with Dr. Dre.

Talking to the BBC’s Zane Lowe, the rapper revealed his new album ‘Relapse’ is simply “to remind people how I rap.”

“There’s no desire to be that big again,” he says of his previous success.  “Whatever happens, I’ll take it, but that’s definitely not what I’ll be recording the songs for.”

Eminem, born Marshall Mathers, explained that he’s been working hard on the new record saying, “For the last five months I’ve been working pretty much straight with Dre.

“There’s going to be a lot of material, more so than I’ve had on an album with him producing before.”

Mathers has put his producing skills to work on previous albums, however, this time he’s leaving it up to Dr. Dre.

“Obviously his beats are insane,” he says of his longtime friend and collaborator.  “But aside from that I can rap, I can write and not worry about what the beat has to sound like and how loud a snare drum is.

“All those things are taken care of for me.  I feel like a spoilt rapper. I get to pick and choose everything.”
