Eminem’s new album Recovery has made a smashing debut on the US charts, selling 741,000 to land itself well and truly in the number one spot and is the biggest single album debut since AC/DC’s Back Ice in October 2008.
The expected chart battle between the rapper and Miley Cyrus didn’t eventuate, with the Hannah Montana star notching up 102,000 copies of her new album Can’t Be Tamed to land at number 3, behind Drake’s Thank Me Later at 2 with 157,000.
Recovery is Eminem’s sixth straight number one of his career.
