Try and keep up with this one!  An alleged recent posting on Michael Lohan’s Twitter claiming that his daughter Lindsay has AIDS and had an affair with Tommy Mottola, has wound up being a fake new story that was reported by almost every gossip website in the world… except for TheCelebrityTruth.com.

The team at Gawker uncovered the lie, that even had Michael Lohan admitting his account was hacked, after screen grabs of his alleged Twitter comments were posted online.

It appears that the story originated from a disgruntled poster on Oh No They Didn’t, a normally reputable source of entertainment news, which was then picked up by Perez Hilton followed by Us Weekly, The Huffington Post, TMZ, Gossip Cop (a site proclaiming to uncover tabloid lies) and more.

According to the Gawker report, the instigators of the rumor were disgruntled that ONTD has moved to an ad-supported model after being free of advertising since it’s inception and attempted to unsettle it’s moderated reputation.
