Family Guy Movie Tipped

With the big screen version of ‘The Simpsons’ hitting worldwide cinemas this week, there’s speculation that another cartoon family, the Griffin’s from TV’s ‘Family Guy’, are also heading for the multiplexes.

Originally dumped by the Fox network – also home of The Simpsons – Family Guy found popularity via DVD sales, which prompted Fox to resume the show in 2005.

Family Guy’s creator, Seth MacFarlane, talked to The Hollywood Reporter about a potential movie spin-off, saying, “We have been trying to figure out how to do that and the series at the same time without the series suffering.”

MacFarlane has not yet come up with any plot ideas for a Family Guy feature film, with Fox executives yet to sign off on the deal.

MacFarlane said that he doesn’t “want to do ‘The Griffin’s must save the world’ ” storyline, adding that “nothing is official” yet.
