Funeral Guests Farewell ‘Beautiful Angel’ Farrah Fawcett

July 1st, 2009

Marla Maples, Tatum O’Neal and Joan Collins were among the 200 people that supported Ryan and Redmond O’Neal today at the private funeral for actress Farrah Fawcett, held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles.

Ryan and Redmond arrived at the cathedral just before 4pm and served as pallbearers, carrying Fawcett’s casket, which was adorned with yellow and orange flowers.

Fawcett’s longtime pal Alana Stewart – formerly married to Rod Stewart, and before that George Hamilton – delivered a eulogy during the hour-long Catholic service.

“She’s the most beautiful angel in heaven,” Stewart said.

“She always seemed so indestructible… [Farrah] never felt sorry for herself during her illness … she fought cancer furiously.”

A gentleman in a kilt opened the service by playing ‘Amazing Grace’ on bagpipe. Afterwards, vans shuttled guests to the reception at the Jonathan Club, where a band played Fawcett’s favorite songs.
