George Clooney has denied reports that he is considering running as President of the United States, after his friend, actor Brad Pitt, put him forward in an interview with Parade magazine.

In the article, when Pitt was asked whether he would consider running for office, he responded, "I’ve never thought about it.  I have no desire at this point.  Maybe I serve better by not going through that door.  George should do it!  He’d be quite good…"

However, Clooney has stopped the rumor from spreading too far, promptly telling Time magazine, "No.  As an advocate, I can take a side and stand by it and not have to worry about ticking off some constituents who helped me get elected.  I don’t want all those kinds of strings attached."
