Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Penn Badgely have confirmed that they have ended their three-year relationship, but say they will continue to work together on the hit show.

A rep for the couple revealed the news to Us magazine this week, but didn’t give any clue as to what ended their romance.

According to Badgely, their off-screen relationship didn’t get in the way of the on-screen one; he told the mag earlier this year, “Some would say it’s a double-edged sword, but in our case, we manage to balance it well.”

The couple reportedly called it off in September.
