California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed on to make it easier for celebrities to sue media outlets that publish photos that invade their privacy.

According to the amendment to the decade old law, fines can be brought against paparazzi who take photos, videos or recordings of celebrities in an illegal manner and permits lawsuits to be brought against the tabloids that pay for the content.

The new amendment comes into effect this January.
