Green Day Confirms They’re The Foxboro Hot Tubs

April 10th, 2008

Following ongoing speculation that rock group Green Day had started a side project called The Foxboro Hot Tubs, the band finally confirmed the rumors on Thursday (April 10).

Revealing the news to MTV, Green Day explained in an email that, "We think that the only similarity is that we are the same band. That is basically the only similarity… We are four guys who love to play music and be spontaneous, [and] after a few late night jams and a few too many bottles of wine, we were inspired to record some rockin’ eight-track recordings."

The Foxboro Hot Tubs quietly launched late last year with the band releasing some songs for free on their official website.

The group have now decided to sell the album saying, "The record goes up for sale any day.  We hope people have a chance to pick up the soon to be released vinyl. If you want to buy it, buy it. If you already have it, buy it anyway!"
