Music producer Jermaine Dupri has spoken about the Atlanta-based party he sponsored on Saturday (August 2) in which shots were fired, saying that he is “sad this incident happened”.
Guests in attendance at the party, held at Dreamz ATL nightclub, included Usher, Diddy, Nelly and actress Gabrielle Union.
Shots were fired at around 3:30am, according to DeKalb County Police spokesman Marcus Hodge, who told local media that the incident occurred after some guests were allegedly double-charged to enter the party by security.
Dupri released a statement saying, “I’m sad this incident happened because it interrupted a beautiful and loving party. But I’m happy none of my people or friends got hurt. And the party continues.”
