Harry Connick Jr is a total fraud. He's not from New Orleans. He's from We3ston, CT, where he attended public school from 1970-1982. Moreover, his real father was never the DA of New Orleans. Connick Sr is or was one of the presidents of Sony Music and a stockholder in Sony Pictures. The father himself had a career in show business and even appeared in the film "Let's Maker Love' with Y. Montand and M. Monroe. He's the guy who loses his part in the show to Montand.

I agree with what you say, we are loosing our culture fast enough to the bloody americans, what is wrong with Australians this is AUSTRALIA not AMERICA stop acting like them, talking like them and trying to look like them, be proud of where you are and what you are Australian's.
I'm sick to death of hearing about AMERICA.
As for Harry he needs to grow up, you say we are not like Americans! oh yes we are that is the trouble we will soon be another state of AMERICA..

I hope it's not too late to let all of the nice folks down in Australia with the truth that:
1.) Connick Jr. is not from New Orleans. He's from Weston, Connecticut, where he attended public school from 1970-1982. He was the only member of the class of '82 not to graduate. He did instead from BRiggs Vocational in Norwalk, CT.
2. His father, who's been reported to have died on a few of the other websites, was never the D.A. of New Orleans. He's one of the presidents of Sony Music and a major stockholder in Sony Pictures, hence his son's questionable rise to show business success.
3.) His wife really met him at Sarah Lawrence College in the 1980s, where Connick Jr. was asked to leave due to picking on a neurological student, who turned around andf knocked Connick Jr. on his ass. The wife may have been asked to leave at that time as well.

Yes, Steve– you're right. Eating beef and recreating a spectacle that traditionally aimed to show Blacks as comedic, inferior and subhuman persons are CLEARLY the same things. Of course, you've done extensive research on race and racial performances in the United States, which is why you feel you can declare so absolutely that "there was nothing racist about this skit at all". So how does this incident bear upon your reading of Daphne Brooks' Bodies in Dissent? Do you always define racism based on whether or not White people are offended?
Lastly, I'm sure 500 years of brutal slavery, forced removal from one's children, mates, homeland, the torture of the middle passage, share cropping, the convict lessee system, and lynchings didn't "harden" Blacks up enough — if only we were like the obviously tougher Aussies, who've gone through so much worse. (I hope you understand the word sarcasm much better than you do the word "racism". )
