Heath Ledger: Generous and Kind-Hearted, Says Dad

Australian actor Heath Ledger was a down-to-earth, generous man who was "extremely inspirational to many", his grieving father has told reporters in Perth, before asking that he and family be allowed "to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately".
Ledger’s parents Kim and Sally, and his sister Kate, talked briefly to reporters in Perth, Western Australia shortly after news of Ledger’s death.
"We, Heath’s family, can confirm the very tragic, untimely and accidental passing of our dearly loved son, brother and doting father of Matilda," his father, Kim, said.
"He was found peacefully asleep in his New York apartment by his housekeeper. He was a down-to-earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving unselfish individual extremely inspirational to many."
The family had gathered at Ledger’s mother’s house in Perth shortly after news broke of their loss. Kim told reporters that the family was grateful for the kind thoughts they were receiving from around the world, but wanted to grieve in private.
"We would like to thank our friends and everyone around the world for their well wishes and kind thoughts at this time. Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life, that few had the pleasure of truly knowing him," Kim said.
"Please now respect our family’s need to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately."
The actor recently spent some time in Perth during with his family, celebrating Christmas and the new year.

Heath Ledger was a brilliant actor and was excellent in his movie A Knights Tale. It is very sad that we lost him at such a young age but he is with God and God had a reason for wanting him so soon. Godspeed.
