Heather Mills: I’m So Happy With $50 Million

March 17th, 2008

Heather Mills and Paul McCartney have finally settled their divorce with the ex-Beatle handing over nearly US$50 million in cash and assets in a London court on Monday (March 17).

The couple were married for just under four years and have a daughter, Beatrice, together.

Mills addressed the media as she left the court saying, "I am standing here because Paul is insistent on the whole judgment being put out. I’ve said that if the whole judgment goes out then all the transcripts have to go out because it’s going to be written in a way that they will try and make it that I wasn’t successful."

The decision by the court states that McCartney must pay Mills a lump sum of approximately $33 million, added to existing assets totaling around $15 million.

Provisions were also made for their daughter, however Mills expressed her displeasure at the allocation saying, "Beatrice only gets $70,000 a year so she is obviously meant to travel B class while her father travels A class. But obviously I will pay for that."

Mills said she was "so happy" with the decision and that she was "just glad it was over."
