The Hills “Doesn’t Need Lauren”

Heidi Montag won’t be too sad to see former best friend Lauren Conrad leave The Hills at the end of season five, with Montag telling MTV News, “We don’t need her.”

Montag, who is currently recording an album, clarifies, “We’ll miss her. I just don’t know if we need her.”

The reality TV star says she wasn’t surprised that Conrad wanted to leave the show, adding, “I know she hasn’t been wanting to be doing this for a while, and [the life she really leads] is not on camera. So I think it’s a closing chapter for her. I’m sure she’ll have fun and success.”

Montag herself knows not to bite the hand that feeds her, and says she has no intention of leaving the scripted-reality show any time soon.

“[Lauren's] gotta leave the dramas to the pros! I love The Hills and I definitely don’t want to go anywhere anytime soon. That’s my home and I’m so grateful to be on it,” she says.
