Husband Of Amy Winehouse Staying In Jail

July 22nd, 2008

Blake Fielder-Civil, husband of troubled singer Amy Winehouse, received a 27-month jail sentence in a London court on Monday (July 21) for assault and obstructing justice.

Following an admission that he beat James King, a pub manager, in a fight in 2006 and attempted to bribe him with $400,000 to not reveal details, Judge David Radford told Fielder-Civil his behavior was “gratuitous, cowardly and disgraceful.”

The 26-year-old has already served nine months behind bars and has a possibility of release around Christmas.

Fielder-Civil’s lawyer, Kate Anderson, told reporters, “We are disappointed with the length of the sentence and giving serious consideration to an appeal.”

How could they possibly be dissapointed with the length of the sentence when he was facing the MAXIMUM penalties? They should have thrown the book at the fool! Or better yet, they should just let him out so he and Amy can go off into the gutter and OD together! That way we can be done with this mess!
