The star of the upcoming movie ‘Wanted’, James McAvoy, has denied rumors that he is set to join the cast of the eagerly anticipated flick ‘The Hobbit’, one of the two prequels to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.

The character of Bilbo Baggins, played in the ‘LOTR’ films by Ian Holm, hasĀ  attracted a number of Hollywood actors, with numerous names rumored to be attached to the role in the Peter Jackson-directed prequels.

Jack Black denied his involvement telling MTV, “No, no. There’s no talk of it,” and now McAvoy has been linked to the role.

“I’m a huge fan of the Tolkien saga, everything to do with Middle-earth,” McEvoy explained to MTV. “But no, there’s no truth in the fact that they’ve approached me yet.”
