Janet Jackson Hospitalized With Mystery Illness

September 30th, 2008

Singer Janet Jackson has been forced to postpone her concert in Montreal, Canada on Monday night (September 29) at the last minute “due to illness”, reports the tour’s promoter, Gillett Entertainment Group.

The singer suddenly fell ill during the sound check before her concert at Bell Centre and had to be rushed to the hospital, according to a statement released by W&W Public Relations.

“We’re not entirely sure (what happened),” Michal Wielgus, a representative for Gillett, told Global TV channel in Canada.

“We don’t have all the details. We just found out 20 minutes ago.”

Some fans were already in the venue when the news was announced.

“That’s never happened before in Bell Centre history,” Wielgus said.

The show has been postponed and not canceled, he emphasized, with tickets for last night’s event to be honored for the new date. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

Jackson, 42, is being closely monitored at the hospital, and reportedly hopes to reschedule the show.
