Jason Bateman Signs TV Development Deal

June 16th, 2008

Jason Bateman has signed a one-year first-look deal with 20th Century Fox TV, allowing the actor to develop new series along with producing and directing new projects.

The deal for the comeback king, who all but disappeared from Hollywood until his starring role in the series ‘Arrested Development’ put him back on the map, includes working on the new show ‘Do Not Disturb’ starring Jerry O’Connell.

“I’m an avid consumer of television, and I’ve got varying tastes,” Bateman told Variety while discussing the agreement.

He’ll next be seen in the Will Smith movie ‘Hancock’, which comes of the back of his successful role in the hit film ‘Juno.’

Great! I love this guy, and we leave Arrested Development on 24/7 in our house – just an epic show.
Really pleased to see him helm new shows, although my hopes lie with an AD movie/special/something. Those writers were amazing and the cast were perfect.
    Don’t forget us Michael Bluth!
