Jay-Z Sends Poker Machine Invites For Club Opening

Hip Hop mogul Jay-Z sent out the invitations to the grand opening of his new 40/40 bar in Las Vegas in December, opting for a mini poker machine rather than paper based invites.

Richard Abowitz, a Las Vegas reporter for the LA Times, received his in the mail, saying, "What do you expect from the master of the hustle? Everytime you pull the handle, you get the same numbers: 12/30/07, the date of the 40/40 opening."

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has opened several of his 40/40 clubs throughout the country, with the latest to be in The Palazzo, which is an extension to the existing resort The Venetian.

In a press release, Carter said, "We represent what the entertainment capital of the world is all about, it’s only natural that we open here."

he Las Vegas club will have 85 plasma screens TV’s, five VIP rooms, 24kt gold and platinum floors, five 40-foot bi-level bars throughout, and an additional 3,000 square foot outdoor bar and lounge area. The construction bill for the glamour set’s newest hang reportedly tops US$20million.
